A Place for Growth
Every activity at the Center City Jewish
Preschool is designed to promote learning and growth. The classroom
is built around a variety of learning centers where the children develop
motor, cognitive, and social skills. The learning is always playful,
active and imaginative. In addition, our teachers act as positive
role models, acting and speaking with kindness and respect. Every
aspect of the school is meant to enhance the healthy development of the child.
A Place for Identity
Our children are taught basic human values- respect for others,
goodness, kindness. Song, dance and hands-on activities introduce
Jewish customs and holidays, giving children a positive feeling about
themselves and their place in the world. These values then become a
part of the children's lives, and the foundation is laid for a life-long
love of their heritage.
A Place for Learning- and Fun!
The children learn how to play, learn and express themselves
through inquiry and experimentation. They are authors and
illustrators making their own classroom books. They are scientists
performing experiments. They are architects constructing cities
out of building blocks. Art teachers, music specialists and others
visit regularly, helping the children appreciate diversity and
contribution. In the end, the children associate learning with Joy
and accomplishment.
A Place for Love
Above all, the Center City Jewish Preschool is a place of love. The
atmosphere is warm and nurturing, giving the children the self-confidence
to work independently, try new activities, and take on challenges.
The children are praised for their individuality and their efforts, and
they are encouraged in their attempts to work out their own solutions to
problems. Ultimately, the children feel secure and loved, because
their teachers believe in them.
Partnership with Parents
We want parents to share in their children's early learning
experiences. Parents are urged to discuss their children with the
teachers. They are also invited to join preschool sponsored family
get-togethers and parenting workshops. We consider ourselves
partners with the parents in their child's preschool development.
